More than 150 guests attended our PM’s XI Dinner in the Bradman Room at Manuka Oval last night. Thank you to everyone who attended.
The highlight of the night was the keynote presentation by former Prime Minister, Hon John Howard OM, AC. Mr Howard was highly entertaining, relating how cricket and diplomacy on the world stage went hand-in-hand when he was in the top job.
We were also delighted that our Patron, His Excellency Gen the Hon Peter Cosgrove AK, MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove were able to attend.
Assistant Minister and ACT Senator Zed Seselja was among the guests as well, together with our National President, Mr Paul Sheahan AM.
Warm congratulations to our President, Ric Smith, and the Lord’s Taverners ACT committee for organising another tremendous event.
Funds raised go towards helping young and disadvantaged local cricketers and other athletes. As the designated local charity, we will also be raising money at the PM’s XI-Sri Lanka match at Manuka Oval tonight.
