History

The Lord’s Taverners was formed in 1949 by a group of cricket-loving actors who used to enjoy watching cricket from the old tavern at the home of cricket, Lord’s, in London.

The Lord’s Taverners was formed in Australia in 1982 and in the Australian Capital Territory in April 1986.

The founder of the Lord’s Taverners in Australia was Mr John Darling, a direct descendent of former Australian captain, Mr Joe Darling.
