Hats off to our team of hardy volunteers who ran the barbecue at Bunnings in Belconnen to help raise money for local young and disadvantaged cricketers and other athletes.
Ably led again by barbecue team captain, Keith Hardy, a total of $1642 was raised at the event, which took place on Saturday 2 June.
It was a significantly better result than our previous Bunnings barbecue in February, thanks largely to the fact that our team didn’t have to deal with an almighty downpour this time around!
Even so, the chilly wind made it a challenge to fill the bread with sausages (and onion), particularly first thing in the morning.
A big thanks to Keith for organising and managing the successful event.
The Lord’s Taverners ACT would also like to acknowledge our other volunteers on the day, who included Jenny and Michael Mead, Hamish Arthur, Andrew Proctor, Larraine Nicholls, Margaret Reid, Brian Ely, Jan and Ric Smith, Ron Bates, Geoff Tooth, John Burrough, Kit Morgan, Ross Calvert, Paria and Aidan Hardy, Diana and Rob Laurie, Helen Marks and Deb Clayton-Baker.
