Lord’s Taverners ACT Scholarships are awarded to local young athletes with a disability on an annual basis.
Each recipient of a scholarship award has received financial assistance from the Lord’s Taverners ACT to help them scale even greater heights in their emerging sporting careers.
Scholarship recipients are chosen by an exhaustive process, including interviews. The year 2017 marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the program.
Local track-and-field athlete, Lachlan Foote has been a multiple winner of Lord’s Taverners ACT Scholarships.
Lachlan, who has arthrogryposis (congenital joint contractures), has competed in sprint races on the international stage. In 2016, he won silver medals in the 100m and 200m at the NZ Athletics Championships. He has set Australian records in his classification for the 100m and 200m.
