Batting all-rounder Kelly Rowlings has been presented with her Graham Wilkinson Memorial Junior Taverners Award by Lord’s Taverners ACT Vice President, Kit Morgan.

The Junior Taverners Awards is a scholarship program for cricketers aged between 14 and 18 who show outstanding qualities, including ability, sportsmanship and general attitude to the game, both on and off the field.

Kelly, 18, said: “I really enjoy cricket and I’d like to improve my game to go as far as I can, so the support from the Lord’s Taverners will assist me with this.”

Kelly is a right-hand top order bat and medium-pace bowler. She’s been playing for six years competitively and is currently part of the Campbelltown first-grade side. She has been a member of the ACT/NSW country squad for the last four years of her junior cricket. Kelly’s best batting in school cricket was 127 not out, while her bowling figures include an amazing 5/1 off four overs and 4/30.

Kelly is aiming to play for the ACT Meteors and the Sydney Thunder.

Kelly has received $1500 from the Lord’s Taverners ACT and a Kookaburra cricket kit.
