At a time when many people may be enjoying more of their own hospitality and with winter approaching, the Lord’s Taverners wishes to draw your attention to an attractive wine offer.
Geoff Merrill is a leading South Australian winemaker. He is also the Chairman of the Taverners in South Australia and is a very generous supporter of the work of the Lord’s Taverners.
Geoff is offering members (and friends) of the Lord’s Taverners a 2014 McLaren Vale Shiraz, specially labelled, which he describes as: “Warm and inviting; aromas of spice, earth, leather, black olive, savoury meats and chocolate. The palate shows ripened red berries, plum and blackberry with rounded grippy tannins and lively acidity. Enjoy with a variety of meat-based dishes.”
Geoff says that an equivalent wine would retail for $370 a dozen. He is offering it to members (and friends) of the Lord’s Taverners for $228 a dozen including freight.
And the good news for the Lord’s Taverners is this: the ACT branch will earn $50 for each dozen bought by members (and friends), as long as the purchaser nominates the ACT.
This isn’t a regular fundraising activity for the Lord’s Taverners, but with most usual opportunities to provide support being closed off for now, the organisation is actively looking for other ways to raise money which goes towards funding the work we do giving the young and disadvantaged a sporting chance.
If you’d like to place an order, information about how to do this can be found on a special form, which can be downloaded by clicking here.
