Former Australian wicket-keeper and Channel 9 commentator, Ian Healy will be the guest speaker at the 2018 Lord’s Taverners ACT Prime Minister’s XI Match Dinner.
The event, which is one of the highlights on the Lord’s Taverners ACT calendar, will be held on Thursday 1 February – the night before the match – at Manuka Oval.
For more than a decade, Ian was, literally, a safe pair of hands behind the stumps for Australia. In his 119 Test matches, he took 366 catches and made 29 stumpings. He was more than capable with the bat, scoring 4356 Test runs at an average of 27.39, with a highest score of 161 not out.
Today, Ian’s involvement in cricket at the highest levels continues through his Channel 9 commitments, while his niece, Alyssa, is the wicket-keeper for Australia’s women’s team, the Southern Stars.
Tickets are on sale now – $150 each for members (and their spouses), $160 each for non-members and $1500 for a table of 10.
You don’t have to be a member of the Lord’s Taverners to attend – entry is open to anyone with an interest in cricket and getting behind the work that the Lord’s Taverners does supporting young local cricketers and disadvantaged athletes.
