Wine dinner in support of local young athletes

More than $6000 has been raised for the Lord’s Taverners Awards for Young Athletes with a Disability.

The funds ($6095.47 in total) were raised at the 2020 Lord’s Taverners ACT Winemakers Dinner, which was held on 19 November at the Commonwealth Club.

The fine food and wine dinner attracted almost 100 people and took place in compliance with government coronavirus restrictions.

The special guest winemaker at the event was Darren De Bortoli of De Bortoli Wines.

Also among what was an entertaining group of speakers was Ari Gesini, who, in the past, has received Lord’s Taverners awards to assist with advancing his sporting career.

The 2021 round of Lord’s Taverners Awards for Young Athletes with a Disability is set to be announced in the coming weeks.
